Exclusive to MACE Engineering, our design-registered manifold spacer to suit VE SIDI LFX, LF1 & LFW,will not suit the LLT variants.
The 25MM Manifold Insulator is a cost-effective way to improve the bottom-end torque of your 3.0 and 3.6 litre VE SIDI V6. This is easily fitted by even the most common DIY enthusiast.
Key Benefits:
What are manifold insulators and what do they do?
A Manifold insulator is a thermal insulating spacer that mounts between your upper and lower intake manifold. Made from a heat blocking composite, our manifold insulators will increase power from your engine by keeping the intake cooler, and produce a 5% increase in low end torque by increasing runner length.
But how do manifold insulators keep the intake manifold cooler?
Our manifold insulators are made from a composite material with a thermal conductivity of 0.29 W/m*K as opposed to aluminium, which has a thermal conductivity of 150 W/m*K. The difference works out to be that aluminium conducts heat 500 times higher than our composite material!
Also, with gaskets often made out of steel (20 W/m*K thermal conductivity), placed between the upper and lower manifolds, replacing a .5mm gasket with a 6.35mm manifold insulator will conduct an amazing 688 times less heat (yes, that's over 70,000% reduction!). What this basically means is that it becomes very difficult for the engine to heat up the manifold, which ultimately means more power for extended periods (i.e. considerably fewer heat soak issues)!
Our composite material also exhibits high stiffness and compressive strength, can withstand temperatures up to nearly 150C, and has a thermal expansion coefficient very similar to aluminium to increase sealing capabilities. In addition, the spacer can also withstand boosted conditions with ease.
What's Included for the SIDI insulator?
2x 25MM Manifold Insulators, longer bolts & gasket sealer.
Please note we offer a set of 6.35MM, 12MM and 25MM Manifold Insulators to suit LFX, LFW & LF1. The 25MM will require trimming of the plastic cowl towards the back of the engine bay. The 25MM Insulator is not recommended to be used in conjunction with an OTR (Over the Radiator) Cold Air Induction as fitment is much more difficult.
*Note that this insulator is to be used in conjunction with the factory gasket.
